Put those jeans away, the pleated skirt has arrived!

Pleated skirts have been featured on the catwalks, in the fashion magazines and are flying out the La Vida Boutique!

These pleated skirts are perfect for transitioning from Winter to Spring. They suit all ages and almost all body shapes. The light and airy fabrics of our pleated skirts avoid adding bulk and give you a womanly silhouette. The longer length of these midi pleated skirts flatter the legs. The cinched waist nips you in to give you a great look.

What do I wear with my pleated skirt?

You can dress your pleated skirts up or down. For the day, team your skirt with a t-shirt and denim jacket, or for an edgier look, a leather jacket. A pretty silk scarf can give a polished look and softening touch to your outfit.

For a smarter day look, tuck a crisp shirt or blouse into your pleated skirt. A lightweight skirt will give a smart and streamlined look without adding bulk.

Elevate your evening look by teaming your pleated skirt with a lacy camisole or silky blouse. A jacket will give extra warmth in this Spring weather and complete your outfit.

Pleated skirts also work well with knits. Pop a slogan jumper or soft sweater with your skirt to give you a warm and cozy feel that’s right on trend.

On chillier days, a longer coat or jacket works well with a pleated skirt. If you have a coatigan in your wardrobe, try this with your skirt for something a little different.

What shoes should I wear with my pleated skirt?

If you get the La Vida weekly newsletter you’ll have seen me teaming my pleated skirts with this seasons must have trainers. If you’re always on the go, these are so comfy and look like you’ve just stepped out the fashion pages.

Pleated skirts also look fabulous with shoe boots for a smarter look in this Spring weather. Team them with thicker tights to give extra warmth and to stay on trend.

As the weather gets warmer, try teaming your pleated skirt with ballet flats. The skirts are so light you can wear yours right through the Summer with sandals; black strappy sandals or gladiator sandals will look fantastic with your skirt.

Your Pleated Skirt Look

If you’re wearing a printed pleated skirt, look for a top with a common colour to one in the print. This will help coordinate the top and bottom pieces of your outfit.

Remember, if you go for a more relaxed look with your top, the bottom half of your outfit needs to be more streamlined. This will ensure your outfit looks intentionally styled rather than sloppy!

If you are concerned your bottom half looks a little heavier, go for a lighter top with your skirt. This gives balance and helps even out your look.

The pleated skirt is an incredibly versatile piece. It can take you from day to evening with just a few simple changes. This skirt is a wonderful transitioning piece from Winter to Spring, which could take you right through the Summer and into Autumn!  With a piece this versatile, you will certainly get value for money from your purchase whilst looking fabulous.
